What We Do
We deliver high-quality process modeling and techno-economic assessments (TEA) to support R&D that evolve as your technology advances. These tools help technology developers identify the most promising applications, optimize the design and operation, pinpoint technical and financial bottlenecks, and benchmark against competing technologies. By setting quantitative research targets and highlighting priority development needs, we guide development efforts toward the greatest impact.
Why It Matters
Developing new technologies involves uncertainty, risk, and limited resources. Our services help navigate those challenges by showing what’s possible, what matters most, and where to focus. Whether you’re refining a concept, evaluating bench experiments, planning a pilot, or preparing for scale-up, we help make confident decisions grounded in quantitative modeling.
Who We Are
Horizon Modeling is led by Tim Bartholomew, who has a decade of experience with process systems engineering and techno-economic assessment methods. He specializes in water treatment technologies and previously led the development of WaterTAP, an open-source software tool for analyzing new water treatment technologies within full treatment trains.
The Horizon Modeling team also consists of a network of part-time experts to meet the unique needs of each engagement.
